The TV pilot "Reset" was able to finance itself through a crowdfunding campaign, but despite positive feedback and sincere interest, could not find a broadcaster that wanted to produce the 10 episodes. As the following pilot proves, that's a real shame. The series acts as an antidote to the weekly junk that AMC feeds to its willing zombie viewers. In contrast to the adventures in the forest, in «Reset» there is an immediate sense of size and the place where the story takes place. It's also refreshing how the characters shimmy from one situation to the next, without there always having to be big "events" with which "The Walking Dead" acts almost exclusively. At the same time, there are neither overly long monologues nor meaningful dialogues, the people speak and act very authentically in my opinion. In addition, the depiction of violence focuses less on the zombie bites and more on the deeds that the survivors do to each other. I particularly like the high-rise melee combat here, short as it may be. It creates an exciting sense of closeness for me, something I've always missed about «The Walking Dead». The rather calm sound mix also gives me a feeling of reality. The series would have told of a group of survivors who have to survive between gangs and zombies after an unspecified plague broke out in the greater Paris area.
RESET focuses his story on 5 survivors in the midst of infected, but also gangs can be even more dangerous, in a post-apocalyptic Paris. The world is gone and these 5 very different personalities will have to reveal themselves to survive.
