Friends, the undead took over yesterday Sunday, under the leadership of Rob, from Les Docks in Lausanne! As my grandfather used to say: “When there is no more room in hell, the dead come back to earth” and for Rob Zombie and his men we are more than grateful to the devil. Yesterday I was treated to one of the greatest shows ever. An unparalleled horror show that makes every horror and metal fan's hair stand up, makes them shudder in awe, makes Marilyn Manson look like childish stuff and Alice Cooper like a Punch and Judy show.

That I can still experience this, after an absence of over 16 (!!!) years, the master is making a guest appearance in the Swiss countryside again. And friends, to get straight to the point, if you weren't in Lausanne yesterday, you missed something! The wait was worth it, Zombie's current team of musicians (Joey Jordison on drums, Piggy D. on bass and the crazy John 5 on guitar), who he has with him on his Superbeast Rising 2011 tour, are a force from the first note. In terms of songs, the focus is on Zombie solo material, but White Zombie classics like “More Human Than Human” and “Thunder Kiss ’65” are also included. But always in order...

Admission took place exactly at 19 p.m., and the crowd rushed into the hall expectantly. And what can I say, the hall is a little exaggerated, a small, cute club opens its doors, when I enter I am a little surprised that a name like Rob Zombie appears here. All the more awesome! The proximity to the stage is hard to top and, in contrast to the rest of the club, it is quite large and promises an excellent show! A quick detour to the merch stand, grabbed a beer and off, secure a place near the front. If the man with his Industrial Horror Metal is already there, I want to see the spectacle up close! By the way, the master himself notices the size of the club himself in the following clip:

The stage decoration immediately catches your eye: 3 black and white portraits of classic film monsters like Frankenstein or the Wolf Man. Additionally, there were several platforms in front of the microphones so that everyone could see the zombies and there were huge skeletons hanging on the microphone stands, Rob's even had 6 arms. The dramatic intro started at 20:30 p.m. and the four-piece band took the stage to loud cheers. As expected, the opener was “Jesus Frankenstein” from the current album. What a start!

The acoustic conditions are exemplary, the sound is top notch. Every single instrument booms out of the speakers clearly, powerfully and transparently. The audience is also in a good mood, gets involved in all the clapping games and just seems to be in the mood for a party. That's how it should be, right from the start the trouble starts! Around 2 dozen beach balls were fired into the audience to “Mars Needs Women”, very in keeping with the party atmosphere. The song is a bomb. The main zombie whirled around the boards like a dervish throughout the entire show, and his 46 years were unnoticeable.

The band seemed to have been played from one piece and the sound was decent. The light show was also great and Rob Zombie accelerated from the beginning, the band around him was just in a good mood, the audience celebrated accordingly and went really well. Rob himself is and remains an entertainer in front of the Lord, very professional, but also very spontaneous and always personable. That's how it should be. The constantly changing stage outfit also had a very positive effect.

As the show continued, classics followed classics. The master also used his old band White Zombie and conjured up gifts from the gods like “Creature of the Wheel” and “Super-Charger Heaven” that were unstoppable.

Even without big effects (shit!), the musician and director knew how to inspire the audience and that is actually worth much more than any effect, no matter how cool. The show itself was of course still great, the sound was top notch and the stage design was simple but harmonious. After the encores, which of course included the mega hit “Dragula”, there was a shift in the shaft for around 90 minutes. People were thrilled and I don't think anyone went home disappointed. Especially since the man seems very close to the audience and likeable. The concert was simply great, but far too short ;)

But unfortunately not all fans can enjoy the show anymore, because after the Irish concerts on June 28th and 29th had to be canceled for “personal reasons”, the next dates in Europe are now on. Rob Zombie only officially states:

“I am very sorry to have to cancel all shows after June 26th. I'm not sick, we have nothing against you - none of these rumors are the reason. Things have happened that mean we have to go back to the USA after the 26th. We hate having to cancel. It's a disappointment on all levels. We were really looking forward to the shows and will catch up on them.”

So what is really the reason remains open. When exactly Rob Zombie will finally start the long journey to Europe again. Anyway I'll be there again next timewhen the zombie invasion hits Switzerland ...

"Dravens Tales from the Crypt" has been enchanting for over 15 years with a tasteless mixture of humor, serious journalism - for current events and unbalanced press reporting politics - and zombies, garnished with lots of art, entertainment and punk rock. Draven has turned his hobby into a popular brand that cannot be classified.

My blog was never designed to spread news, let alone get political, but with current affairs I just can't help but capture information here that is otherwise censored on all other channels. I'm aware that the design page may not seem "serious" to many in this regard, but I won't change it to please the "mainstream". Anyone who is open to non-state-compliant information sees the content and not the packaging. I've tried enough to provide people with information over the last 2 years, but quickly noticed that it never matters how it is "packaged", but what the other person's attitude towards it is. I don't want to put honey on anyone's mouth to meet expectations in any way, so I'll keep this design because hopefully at some point I'll be able to stop making these political statements, because it's not my goal to go on like this forever ;) I leave it up to everyone how they deal with it. It's hard for me to describe what I'm actually doing here, DravensTales has become a culture blog, music blog, shock blog, tech blog, horror blog, fun blog, a blog about found items on the internet, internet bizarre, trash blog, art blog, water heater, zeitgeist blog over the years , Scrap blog and grab bag blog called. Everything that is right ... - and yet not. The main focus of the blog is contemporary art, in the broadest sense of the word.
