So far, the usual blood-soaked campaign against evil was reserved for customers of Amazon's video platform Prime, but that will soon change. RTL Crime has secured the rights to "Ash vs. Evil Dead" and will be showing the first season from April 19, 2017 every Wednesday at 20:15 p.m. in the prime slot. It is not yet a free TV broadcast, but it is a first step in this direction. Since almost all episodes of the series are classified as 18+, it is practically impossible to broadcast on regular TV programs before 23 p.m. But "The Walking Dead" has already shown that with the right programming, even this obstacle should not pose a problem. A later leap into free TV is therefore more than likely...
Ash is a warehouse worker, aging womanizer and demon hunter - with a chainsaw instead of a hand. For the last 30 years he has shunned himself from taking responsibility, growing up and taking action against evil. When a demonic plague threatens to wipe out humanity, Ash is forced to face his demons - in the truest sense of the word. But fate does not seem to want to free the antihero from evil clutches.
